The GeSiM BioScaffolder is a customizable bioprinting multitool for regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and biomaterials research and it fits into most biosafety cabinets. It offers a variety of tools used for tissue engineering, scaffolding of bone and cartilage as well as soft tissues, electroactive tissues, heart valves and vasculature. It has applications in 3D printing of biomedical devices (bioMEMS, Organ on a chip) as well as pharmaceutical development to print organoids or microtissues and tissue cultures for drug testing and disease modeling. As your research changes, the Bio-Scaffolder can be reconfigured to match your needs. It can handle liquids as well as gels and other pasty materials with very high viscosity and offers heated and chilled options for bio-inks as well as the printed object.

  • Import 3D objects in STL or 3MF format, select from a variety of infill patterns.

  • Extrusion using compressed air is possible at temperatures from 0 C to 190 C (20 C below ambient) and pressures up to 7 bar.

  • Piezo Pipette or Solenoid Pipette for delivery of picoliter volumes of activators, cofactors or cellculture.

  • Extrusion using a powerful piston based positive displacement extruder is possible at temperatures from ambient to 250 C.

  • Photocuring / UV curing is possible at various wavelength 

  • Melt-Electrospin-Writing (MES) is possible at temperatures up to 190C and can produce filaments as small as 10 microns to create scaffolds with very fine porous structures.

  • Coaxial or Core/Shell extrusion of two materials is possible at ambient temperature

  • Plasma Pen for surface functionalization

  • Fused deposition modeling (FDM): Use commercially available filaments for 3D printing.

  • NEW! The Syringe Extruder utilizes standard piston and barrel syringes (3, 5, 10, 50 mL) which makes loading your ink and keeping it sterile easier!
